Trump and his gang are at war against the government of the United States and the land and people of this country. It’s a war on nature with the gravest consequences for our democracy and our climate.
Americans are fighting back. Mass protests are spreading to build the PEOPLE POWER we need to stop this authoritarian takeover! The courts and Congress simply can’t do it alone. We need PEOPLE IN THE STREETS!
Did you know?  There were more than 1,300 ‘Hands Off’ rallies on April 5th in the US, compared to the 686 protests that followed Trump 1.0’s inauguration? People of all stripes are showing up in huge numbers and we’re just getting started.
In addition to fighting for a stable climate future, 350 Eugene is carving out time and resources to join the fight against this malignant fascism. Read on, get inspired and jump in!
MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow covered hundreds of Hands Off protests nationwide that week and featured Eugene, Oregon and the beautiful Monarch butterflies we created for the April 5th rally! Woot, woot!
We’re jazzed to be showing up WITH YOU!

REIMAGINING EARTH DAY - FARMERS MARKET PAVILLION - APRIL 13TH
Picture
We debuted our striking “Tree Puppets” (big thanks to Artist Team) with a display that explains how forests are the Pacific Northwest’s greatest natural climate solution… But only if we leave them in the ground!
(Please note: Private Industrial forests can (and should) provide all the material we need to satisfy our requirements for wood products in the US. and logging is actually bad for Oregon’s economy.)

QUEST BY CYCLE - APRIL 20TH
The Quest by Cycle Earth Day Every Day Launch Ride & Celebration, led by our intrepid Tomoko Sekiguchi, was a joyful success! Whether you guided riders, helped with set-up, snapped photos, served tea, played music, hauled gear, or simply cheered us on—you made the day shine. Your time, energy, and enthusiasm helped bring the biking!

EARTH DAY PROTEST & HIKE TO PROTECT OLD FOREST - APRIL 22ND
Picture
350EUG Forest Team joined our Cascadia Wildlands WildCAT buddies for a spirited and loud rally at the Roseburg District off of the Bureau of Land Management to protest their Blue & Gold Timber Sale.

The agency says the forests in the project area west of Roseburg range from 40-140 years old. Yet through field checking efforts many of the stands were found to be much older — with some groves reaching upwards of 600 years old! The BLM is moving forward with actions that would remove or degrade over 1,500 acres of incredibly important spotted owl habitat and punch new roads right through breathtaking old-growth groves, all while increasing fire hazard in “regeneration harvest” (aka clearcut) units for at least the next 50 years. Not without a fight!

FRACKED GAS RESISTANCE - THE FIGHT IS NOT OVER!
GTN: The GTN XPress is a project by TC energy (Trans Canada) to increase the flow/pressure capacity in current methane (LNG) pipelines that flow through Idaho, Wash. and Oregon by increasing four compressor stations capacities.
In 60 year old pipes what could go wrong? Right?
Columbia RIverkeeper and Rogue Climate are challenging FERC's (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) approval in court arguing that FERC's approval violates the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the Natural Gas Act.
350EUG has contributed to the fight and supports the legal representation by Earthjustice and Crag Law Center. Stay tuned.

ALERT! There’s a lot of dangerous fossil fuels stored in our Oregon!

"No matter who joins this fight, it won’t be won next week, or next month. Barring impeachment and removal, Trump will be president for four long years, and not even his allies expect him to become less authoritarian and kleptocratic. So pace yourself. But the sooner you join in, the more effectively we can limit the damage.” (Fighting Back: A Citizen’s Guide to Resistance - The New Republic by Timothy Noah, March 27, 2025, Ordinary People Have More Power Than They Know.
