Our Public Lands are Under Attack - Fight back!The current administration has launched an unprecedented attack on our most treasured landscapes.  Organizations at the local and national levels are tracking every rollback, every threat and taking action! Public participation is the key. Get to know the issues. Contact your electeds, send the emails, share on social media and show up at events (links below)! ROADLESS RULE: We know the administration wants to rescind this cornerstone of sound forest management, which was passed overwhelmingly in 2001. It has balanced ecological, economic and cultural values for over 25 years! Our Public Lands, Public Voices event sponsored by Oregon Wild, FUSEE, Cascadia Wildlands and 350EUG at Gratitude Brewing last week was standing room only! We had great speakers, fun trivia and collected scores of postcard comments that will be submitted.  SO GET READY: The Roadless Rule public engagement period opens in June and we’re preparing to submit massive comments to the Secretary of the USDA to abandon this misguided effort. We’re fighting for places like Hardesty Mountain, Oregon Dunes and Alsea Falls!  TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE: In Washington, D.C., Rep. Cliff Bentz - HD 2, Oregon’s largest district (most of central and all of eastern Oregon), introduced H.R. 7603 - the “O&C Renewal Act of 2026,” which would make timber production the primary purpose on public (BLM) forests in order to fund county governments, prioritizing logging over protections for fish, wildlife, stream protections pushing threatened species to extinction. NO WAY. TAKE ACTION TODAY: Use Cascadia Wildlands form to send a message to our Congressional Representatives to oppose H.R. 7603 and reject efforts to dismantle protections for our forests and watersheds! WE’RE LOUD: Last month you helped submit almost 50,000 comments on the administration’s efforts to revise (weaken) Western Oregon’s forest resource plans, which would maximize logging at the expense of other forest values on BLM lands. Good job getting comments on the public record! It’s important! FUSEE met Ted through his partner Molly, a wildland firefighter, who attended one of their amazing wellness retreats. These depictions are of fire-adapted landscapes and animals, to show the beauty of living with fire on the land.
